Good value on Europe cruise

I was looking for a good deal on a Europe cruise and Princess had some decent options. I ended up getting a Princess Plus package which felt like a good value. It included drinks and wifi, so I didn't have to worry about those extra costs later. I did compare it with a few other lines, but the all-in price for what I got seemed better here. The cabin was an interior one, nothing fancy, but it was clean. It felt like I got my money's worth for sure, especially with everything bundled.

Caribbean trip was great

I just got back from a Caribbean cruise with Princess, and it was a really nice trip. We went from Fort Lauderdale and the whole booking thing online was pretty easy, didn't have any hiccups. The MedallionClass stuff was neat, made getting around and paying for things super simple. I got a balcony stateroom which was worth it for the views. Food was good, nothing too fancy but solid. Would totally go again.

Detailed review of Japan cruise

I recently took a Japan cruise with Princess, and wanted to share my experience. The ordering process online was relatively smooth, though I did call customer service once to clarify something about the shore excursions, and they were quite helpful. My travel documents arrived on time, about two weeks before departure. We had a mini-suite, which was comfortable and well-maintained. The MedallionClass really did make boarding and getting on/off the ship easy, it was nice not to fumble for cards. Quality of the food in the main dining rooms was consistently good, and we tried a specialty dining package which was a nice upgrade. Wifi was a bit spotty at times, as expected on a ship, but it was functional enough for checking emails. Overall, a solid trip and Princess delivered on what they advertised.

hey, trying to figure out which package to get, Princess Plus or Premier? what's the real difference, is premier worth it?

T Tom 1 month ago
Premier is basically everything included, like top-tier drinks and super fast wifi. Plus is good if you just want the basics covered, like standard drinks and decent wifi. Depends how much you plan to indulge, lol.

Premier is better if you're gonna go all out on drinks and specialty dining. If you're more chill, Plus is probably fine. I went with Plus and was happy, but I don't drink a ton.

Can I bring my own wine or a few beers on board for my cabin? Or do they confiscate everything?

C Cleo Reyes 1 month ago
You can usually bring one bottle of wine or champagne per adult, no problem. They might charge a corkage fee if you open it in the dining room though. Beer, not so much, they'll usually take that.

Yeah, wine is fine, but definitely no hard liquor or cases of beer. They're pretty strict about that. Just buy their beverage package if you want to drink a lot.

How does the Princess Medallion thing work? Is it actually useful or just a gimmick?

T Tom Z. 2 months ago
It's actually pretty cool. You wear it like a watch or necklace, and it unlocks your cabin door, lets you order drinks anywhere, and they can find you if you're lost, haha. Made things really easy.

Does Princess usually do a military discount? My husband is retired army, wondering if we can snag anything for our next trip.

M Marcus D. 1 month ago
Pretty sure they do! My dad used his last year, you just have to prove service when you book, I think. Look for 'offer codes' on their site.

Yep, they definitely have military rates. Not always huge, but every bit helps right? You'd probably apply it when you first book, not later with a checkout code.

Thinking about booking a Princess cruise to Alaska next summer, but worried about getting a good deal. When's the best time to actually book one of those?

J Josh 1 month ago
Wave season, dude. Jan-March usually has the best promos, sometimes you can get free upgrades or onboard credit then.

Yeah, I booked my Alaska trip in February last year and got a decent discount. Also heard some people get good last-minute deals if you're flexible, but for Alaska, I'd probably book early.
